Litigio: Original Score for Short Film
Litigio (It. “fight”, “quarrel”) is an original score composed for a short film of Salvatore Amico prior to shooting. The music was developed independently from picture, shaping the emotional and rhythmic foundation of the scene in advance.

Litigio
The score was written for a scene in which a conflict between the two main characters escalates rapidly—from a verbal argument into a physical confrontation. At the filmmaker’s request, the musical language combines electronic music stylistics with acoustic violin.
My approach focused on sustaining tension while leaving space for the choreography and staging of the fight. Rather than relying on harmonic development, the cue is driven by rhythmic evolution: repeating patterns that shift and transform multiple times within a short duration, maintaining a continuous build-up. Sudden interruptions are used deliberately to heighten instability and dramatic impact.
The violin part consists of minimal, fragmented gestures, performed sul ponticello to achieve a rough, dry timbre that reinforces the rawness of the confrontation.
