Spring 2022, there were announced green corridors for evacuation of civilians from towns where the military actions were happening. There were agreements between both sides that in that precise hours there would be no fire and nothing that would block safe pass of busses and cars with people that were leaving their homes to save their lives. And then… because of “bad coordination” between troops or something of this kind and the ones that just wanted to live where shut, bombarded in exactly that corridor and in exactly that hours that were announced as a pause for any military actions. And that is actually usual “rule” of this war. The negotiations for cease fire are never reliable. They are never hold from another side with guaranty. Usual persons that don’t even have any connection to army are target, just because they are Ukrainians, just because they lived their lives in this land.
I’d say for now this piece was the hardest one for me in creation. It emptied me emotionally during the weeks I was working on it. In technical sense and in terms of musical language it isn’t really complicated. But its message is a heavy one and the worst that it is based on painful reality that’s happening in my country. It was a spring of 2022 and apart from shock of the things that were happening, that my city is not safe place anymore (and in those months the situation was really fragile) each new “discovery” of how deeper the bottom of the violence can be was overwhelming. It is very true that in war there would never be an edge of how bad it could go. Each time you think how it is possible to do such a cruel thing in a while you’ll find out that there is something even more evil happening.
