“Among the Waves” 2023, for flutes (concert and bass) and electronics.
Electro-acoustic composition, written for ilSuono Contemporary Music Week 2023 (Sansepolcro, Italy.)
“Among the Waves” is an allegory of emotional conditions in the life period with heavy and dark background. This is like some life circumstances that are not affecting physically, but creating huge emotional pressure time to time. These waves are something that happens continuously, so it is possible to adapt into it. Then among them arrives something really heavy that touches deeply. However, it is not destroying completely, it just takes some more time to go back to usual balance until next one come or everything will finally return to normal.
In some point this piece is audiovisual. While I was composing I had in my mind to create a digital artwork as well. And was complete shortly before I went to il Suono Music Week where the piece was premiered.
Later I’ve also made animated video with recording after the concert using video of drawing process of this digital artwork.
